I’m looking for advice on a coating or treatment for my Rolex. I’ve got a Datejust, but it seems the nickel in the oystersteel gives me an allergic reaction. Is there any sort of permanent clear coating I can have applied, and if so, recommendations for places that do it? I purchased a basic steel Rolex back in the early 2000s and returned it after developing a huge rash on my arm. I was told there are trace amounts of nickel in the steel rolexes, and that is probably what caused the rash.
Now I believe the 904 s/s used in the Rolex watches has a higher content of nickel than the 316L used in some others.
