Just wondering if anyone who had a P.5000 based watch that ran fast got it . Anyway, I decided that even not wearing the PAM constantly, I would see how accurate it was after 8 days. After 8 days, 5 of which the watch was sitting flat on my desk, it is running 90 seconds fast. An average of +11.25 . I'm considering adding a speedmaster or a 8 day Panerai with the p.5000 calibre. The speedmaster movement is proven and basically bullet proof, while there are a few people who have in the past complained about the p.5000. For those who have the p.5000 movement, hows it been? Any issues? Just wondering if anyone who had a P.5000 based watch that ran fast got it satisfactorily repaired or if they just need to live with it. If it was repaired by Panerai, do you know what was corrected? New PAM610.

I'm having some trouble getting a solid opinion on the P.5000 in-house movement and how it compares to the older ETA models (reliability, robustness, and maintenance). I currently own a PAM356 and am looking to buy another model (w/8 day reserve) and I'm not sure how the P.5000 8-day holds up. I owned two previous Panerai with P5000s (564 and 609) and had to sell both because they were running up to 3-4mins fast after the first two days. My Panerai with the P3000 movement (3 day handwound) all ran according to spec without any issues. I now avoid anything with the P5000.

Check out the PAM 560 on panerai.com and then see what Ben Clymer had to say about the very first watch to use the P.5000, right here. Panerai. This is the most stripped-down watch in Panerai’s current collection and it also represents the entry level price into the world of Panerai in-house movements, in this case the P.5000.

Full details and images of the Panerai caliber P.5000, including a list of all watches using this movement. The P.5000 are hit-or-miss. Not all suffered from the severe inaccuracy when first wound (I am told it was from overlubricating the movement.the watch simply can’t handle the full power and speeds up substantially at first). A power reserve of eight days and hand-wound: the P.5000 calibre combines these two characteristics which are part of the history of Panerai watches since th.

I was changing my tranny fluid because it hadn’t been done in a long time I went to autozone or to get the fluid and this guy brings out 5 quarts, looks like V to me but after I pump everything I look at the bottles and see 3 were mercon V, one was import (type Z) and one was LV. All the import and about half a quart of the LV is in the tranny.
