While there were many interesting replies, no long term fix was ever found. That was the case until now. It would be interesting to find and analyze two watches, with either 3235 or 3285 movements, built in different years, then measure different (55,53) lift angles, followed by a comparison of the individual movement components. To measure lift angles one needs to open the caseback and use an optical device (WisioScope).
Also what's weird is recently Bas said they updated their documentation on the lift angle from 55 to 53. How do they get this wrong in the first place? Or have they updated something? Can you please explain what the lift angle is, and why the 3235 is such an atypical movement with lower amplitudes? I really appreciate it if you can, but also understand if you are too busy. It is the angle between where the roller jewel hits the pallet fork and leaves it again. Slapped it in the timegrapher and voila sub 200 amplitude and that's when we all thought the lift angle was 55. No one has answered this but how the hell does rolex get the lift angle calculation wrong for 2-3 years and only just update it to 53?
The information about the lift angle is correct. I should have also mentioned in my last post that when you adjust your lift angle to 55, the amplitude will actually increase. So you will probably find that the watch is running just fine.
