The back of the case says "Brevet Modele Depose 8500" and I know it is a genuine Breitling because I got it from an authorised dealer all those years ago but over the years I have lost the papers and now I can't remember anything about it. The watch still works but I think the water resistant seals have long perished. The watch appears to be authentic. The engraving on the back is sharp and the details on the face are clear. I ran the serial number through Breitling's service portal and it matches a Breitling Navitimer World Reference A24322. That being said, always buy the seller, before you buy the watch.

It has good mechanical movement (not quartz), and I stopped its movement early on when the emblem came loose. I can upload more pics of the watch as needed. I'd be wary of the hour totalizer hand being off (when it should be zeroed) on the 12hr chrono subdial as a mechanical/aesthetic problem, not an indication that the watch is fake (close-up photo).
