Retail and market price, model specifications and historical trends for the Breitling SuperOcean . It’s a rugged but one of the most robust mechanical movements ever made . I have the black dial X-Plus version of the Steelfish, with the syringe-like second hand, and have to agree with most of your comments. The dial is incredibly detailed and I never get bored of looking at it. Although substantial, the size of the watch is actually fairly conservative by today's standards.

The SuperOcean Steelfish X-Plus has been renamed the SuperOcean Steelfish in 2007 after the discontinuation of the original 42mm SuperOcean Steelfish. The X-Plus name was used for only one model year, 2006. You can find the new reference by clicking here. It’s a rugged but one of the most robust mechanical movements ever made (photo courtesy of Breitling). The new model SuperOcean (ref A17392D8.C910.211S) replaced this model in the Breitling catalog. The Superocean Chronograph Steelfish is Breitling’s latest addition to its dive watch lineup and, other than the retro-inspired Superocean Heritage (,395), which tugs at our heartstrings daily, is their best underwater effort. It was my second Breitling and second real luxury watch. This was maybe ten years ago, when I knew a lot less than I do now. That watch was fantastic, and surprisingly, probably one of the most accurate watches I have ever owned, a solid +/- 2 s/day. There are two different SuperOcean Steelfishes out there, and many people are often confused as to which one they are buying, the X-Plus or the original. Especially since Breitling has dropped X-Plus from the name.
