Thanks to your post xjeeunitx, I just removed some light scratches from the sapphire crystal of my Seamaster with a Cape Cod cloth, thanks! Cape cod cloth is alright for removing very faint swirlies, but it won't give you a mirror polish like a buffing wheel with compound. It is cheap and easy, though. Scotch brite .

I've read some PAM enthusiasts wear by cape cod, but they seem to be divided whether it should be used on a brushed surface. The 164 has a brushed case and polished . Has anyone polished their Panerais with Cape Cod cloth? I have a few questions (1) Does it affect the glass if the polishing close to glass and touches it? (2) How often to do it? (3) . Knowing how to use Cape Cod, Sunshine Polishing Cloth, Polywatch and a blue Scotch Brite pad are powerful skills.
u/tonyxcom is completely correct - Cape Cod cloths are for polishing metal, NOT for brushed metal. If you use the Cape Cod on a brushed finish - correctly - you will polish it .
